For this project MOB carried out the pre-manufacture and installation of 2 different modules at its own location in Rotterdam. The modules are constructed in accordance with the ‘plug and play’ system which means that the modules seamlessly connect.
The first module weighs a total of 34 tonne and was transported on a pontoon to the site of the customer, Shell Chemicals, in Moerdijk. The second module is a CRU-unit in which 3 large pieces of equipment were placed. The second module weighs a total of 125 tonne and will also be lifted onto a pontoon by two 650 tonne shore side cranes. A pusher tug will then help to transport the module to the customers site. MOB delivers the modules including steam tracing, insulation, instrumentation, cabling and paintwork and also installs the interconnecting piping between the CRU-unit and the existing plant in Moerdijk.
